Best Typeform alternatives in 2026 (free and unlimited)

Typeform cut its free plan to 10 responses a month in February 2026. Here are the form builders that still let you ship, with prices verified August 2026.

TL;DR. Typeform’s free plan is 10 responses per month as of February 2026. Forms go Private at the cap and extra answers are lost. For unlimited free submissions, the honest shortlist is Wodle, Tally, Youform, and Google Forms. Typeform still wins if you will pay for its conversational UI.

Typeform taught a generation of marketers that a form could feel like a conversation. That product is still good. The free plan is not.

In February 2026 Typeform cut free responses from 100 per month to 10 per month, account-wide. The cap does not reset per form. It does not roll over. When you hit it, Typeform switches forms to Private. Rejected submissions are not queued and are not recoverable. If you launched a waitlist on a Thursday and the internet noticed on Friday, those Friday answers are gone.

That change is why “Typeform alternative” searches spiked, and why this page exists. Figures below were checked against vendor pricing and help pages on 19 August 2026. Where a vendor contradicts itself, we say so instead of guessing.

For a page built to convert rather than rank as a roundup, use the shorter Wodle vs Typeform comparison.

What “alternative” has to mean now

A Typeform alternative in 2026 has to clear three bars:

  1. A free plan you can actually use, or a paid plan that is not a 100-response trap.
  2. Logic and design that are good enough for a public form, not an internal poll.
  3. An honest list of gaps, because every challenger is missing something Typeform has spent a decade shipping.

Unlimited responses on Free is rarer than the ads suggest. We only call a plan unlimited when the vendor does not publish a monthly response ceiling. Fair use still applies, including on Wodle.

Typeform’s own pricing page showed two price sets in August 2026: plan cards and structured data at $39 / $79 / $129 monthly, and a comparison table at $29 / $59 / $99. Cite the plan cards, then confirm in-app before you buy.

How we verified this

Every number above came from the vendor’s own pricing or help pages, read on 19 August 2026. None of it was copied from another roundup, which is how stale figures propagate across this whole category.

Three caveats worth stating plainly:

  • Prices move, and vendors contradict themselves. Typeform showed two different price sets on the same day, as above. Where a vendor disagrees with itself, we quote the plan cards and tell you to confirm in-app rather than pick the number that flatters our argument.
  • Currency and billing toggles change the headline. Several vendors localise to EUR or USD, and most default to the annual rate. We quote the monthly rate unless we say otherwise, which is why some figures here look higher than the number on the vendor's page when it loads for you.
  • We have not stress-tested anyone’s fair use policy. In this article "unlimited" means the vendor publishes no monthly response ceiling. It does not mean no ceiling exists, and that applies to Wodle as much as to Tally.

No tool on this page paid to be here and there are no affiliate links. Wodle is our product and we list it first in its category, which is a bias you should weigh when reading the rest.

How to choose in one minute

  • Unlimited free responses plus a designed canvas: Wodle.
  • Unlimited free responses plus a Notion-style editor: Tally.
  • Internal and already in Google: Google Forms.
  • Conversational UI, budget available: stay on Typeform.
  • Airtable / Notion workflows and 1,000 free responses: Fillout.
  • Templates, payments, and you will pay: Jotform.
  • Open source and you will host it: Formbricks Community Edition.

1. Wodle — best Typeform alternative if the form should also show something

Wodle is our product, so here is the claim in plain language, including the gaps.

Wodle is a visual form builder with unlimited forms and unlimited submissions on Free, subject to fair use. Conditional logic, calculations, embeds, signatures, file uploads, and analytics are included before you pay. Pro is $17/month for email notifications, webhooks, custom success actions, 5 GB storage, and higher AI limits.

The product difference versus Typeform is not only price. Typeform asks questions. Wodle can display a café menu and take the order in one flow. That matters if you have been stuffing context into Typeform welcome screens.

Where Wodle is weaker than Typeform. No native Zapier, Slack, or Google Sheets. No partial submissions. No custom domains. Free is capped at 5 steps and 75 components per form. File uploads are 1 MB per file and 100 MB total on Free. AI is 5 messages per day on Free. We do not clone Typeform’s one-question-per-screen motion, though you can put a single field on a step.

Who it is for. Small businesses, indie makers, and anyone who hit Typeform’s 10-response wall and still needs a public form that looks finished.

Start from a template or a prompt. See what is actually on Free.

2. Tally — best Typeform alternative if you write forms like documents

Tally is the other serious unlimited-free option. You type a form the way you type a Notion page. Conditional logic, calculations, signatures, payments, and a long integration list (Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Zapier, Make, webhooks) are on Free.

Tally’s fair use policy is public. It talks about sustained volume around 50,000 submissions a month, large upload totals, and heavy email, then a conversation about a custom plan. For normal use, treat it as unlimited.

The catch. Drop-off and form-visit analytics, branding removal, custom domains, and partial submissions sit on Pro. The pricing page listed Pro at €20/month with a yearly toggle, while Tally’s help center quoted $29/month. Confirm the billed amount in-app.

Pick Tally over Wodle if native Notion or Zapier on Free is non-negotiable, or if you want payments inside the form without leaving Tally.

Pick Wodle over Tally if you want a designed canvas, display components, and analytics without paying. Head-to-head: Wodle vs Tally.

3. Google Forms — best Typeform alternative if “free” means zero product to learn

Google Forms has no response cap, no paid tier, and no surprise bill. For an internal standup poll, it is still the default.

It is a weak Typeform replacement. Logic is “go to section based on answer” on multiple choice and dropdowns only. You cannot hide a single field. You cannot branch on typed text. File uploads require the respondent to sign into a Google account, which kills completion on public forms. There are no payments, signatures, or webhooks. Design is a header image and a handful of fonts.

Use Google Forms when the audience is already in Workspace and the output should be a Sheet. Use almost anything else when the form is public. Full write-up: Google Forms alternatives and Wodle vs Google Forms.

4. Youform — closest Typeform clone on an unlimited free plan

Youform leans into the Typeform look: conversational screens, multiple endings, hidden fields, signatures, and logic, with unlimited responses on Free. Integrations include Sheets, Slack, Zapier, and webhooks. File uploads are 10 MB.

Free is single-user and keeps Youform branding. Payments, custom domains, redirects, partial submissions, and multi-language wait for Pro at $29/month or $20/month billed annually.

Pick Youform if the Typeform feel is the requirement and the budget is $0. Pick Wodle if you need display components or a visual layout rather than a question stream.

5. Fillout — best near-miss if 1,000 free responses is enough

Fillout is the most generous capped free plan in this set: 1,000 responses per month, unlimited forms, unlimited seats, logic, calculations, payments, scheduling, and a long integration list.

Two details matter. First, Fillout says forms keep collecting after you hit the cap — you upgrade, buy bulk responses, or wait. That is kinder than Typeform’s Private mode. Second, drop-off analytics and custom domains are Business at $89/month.

Starter is $19/month for 2,000 responses. If 1,000/month is enough and Airtable is the system of record, Fillout is a strong Typeform off-ramp. If you refuse a ceiling, it is not unlimited.

6. Jotform — best Typeform alternative if you need a giant template library

Jotform can do almost everything: payments, approvals, PDFs, huge templates. The free plan cannot. Free is 5 forms, 100 submissions/month, 10,000 views, 100 MB uploads, 500 stored submissions, 10 payment submissions, and 100 fields per form. Hit any one axis and you are blocked even if the others are unused. Several teams report forms disabling mid-campaign.

Bronze starts at $39/month for 1,000 submissions. Every self-serve plan through Gold is single-user. HIPAA is Gold.

Pick Jotform when you will pay for depth. Do not pick it as a “free Typeform.”

7. Paperform — page-like forms, tiny free quota

Paperform forms can look like landing pages, which is closer to Wodle’s display-plus-input idea than Typeform’s conversation. Free is 30 submissions/month. Paid plans meter per year (Essentials 1,200/year), so one busy month can chew the allowance. Essentials is $29/month or $24/month annual and still shows branding; full removal starts at Pro.

Worth a look if you want page-like layout and you will pay. Not a free Typeform alternative in any practical sense.

8. Formbricks — best open-source Typeform alternative

Formbricks Cloud Hobby is free with 250 responses/month. The interesting offer is the AGPLv3 Community Edition you host yourself: unlimited responses, surveys, and users, one workspace, free for commercial use. Enterprise features (SSO, audit logs, private forks) need a license. Cloud Pro is $74/month for 2,000 responses.

Pick Formbricks if you want to self-host and you are comfortable running infrastructure. Pick a hosted builder if you are not.

9. Microsoft Forms — only if you already pay for Microsoft 365

A free personal Microsoft account gets 200 responses per form. Paid personal accounts get 1,000. Work/school Microsoft 365 accounts can go much higher, with a practical ceiling around 50,000 before features degrade. File upload is not available on personal accounts.

This is a Typeform alternative only inside an organization that standardized on Microsoft. It is not a public-form tool.

Who should stay on Typeform

Leave Typeform if the 10-response cap, Private mode, or $39 for 100 responses is the pain.

Stay if:

  • The one-question flow is part of the brand, not a default.
  • You already live in Typeform’s paid integrations and Talent workflows.
  • You need features Wodle and Tally do not sell yet (enterprise residency, mature native app ecosystem).

Paying for a tool you like is rational. Paying because the free plan became a demo is not the same decision.

How to migrate off Typeform

  1. Export now. Download CSV or Sheets while the form is still open. Typeform does not store the responses it rejects after Private mode.
  2. Rebuild the flow, not the screenshots. In Wodle, start from a prompt or template. Use display blocks for welcome context instead of extra questions.
  3. Replace every public URL. Email signatures, Linktree, ads, QR codes, embeds.
  4. Add automation last. Typeform’s Contacts & Automations add-on is extra money. Wodle email and webhooks are a flat Pro upgrade if you need them.
  5. Cancel only after the new link is live. Do not discover a broken embed on Monday.

What usually breaks in a Typeform migration

The rebuild is rarely the hard part. These are the things people forget until the form is already live:

Hidden fields and UTM capture. If you pass utm_source, a CRM record ID, or an email into the typeform via query string, every downstream report depends on those parameters surviving the move. Map them first and test with a real tagged URL, not the preview.

Recall and piping. Typeform lets you echo an earlier answer into later question text. If your copy reads "Thanks, {{field:name}}", check whether the new tool supports the same reference and what it renders when the field is empty.

Respondent-facing email. Typeform's self-notifications and respondent receipts are separate settings. Rebuilding the form does not rebuild them, and a silently missing receipt reads as a broken submission to the person who filled it in.

Partial submissions. Typeform records answers as people go. Most alternatives, Wodle included, only record a completed submission. If your funnel reporting counts partials, your numbers will drop after the migration even though nothing got worse. Decide whether that metric mattered before you panic about it.

Embed type. A full-page embed, a popup, and a side tab are three different snippets. Swapping the URL inside an existing snippet is not always enough, and the replacement tool may not offer the same modes.

Response IDs. Your new tool starts numbering from scratch. If a spreadsheet, CRM, or support macro keys off Typeform's response ID, plan the join before you cut over rather than after.

What we will not claim

We will not say Wodle is “Typeform, but cheaper, and identical.” It is not identical. We will not say Free is unconditionally unlimited. It is fair use, with step, storage, and AI limits. We will not invent Typeform’s in-app price when Typeform’s own page disagrees with itself.

If that honesty is useful, the fastest next step is the Typeform comparison page or a template.

Typeform’s paid math, without the marketing

Free is the crisis. Paid is the slow leak.

Typeform meters the account, not the form. Ten free responses are shared across every typeform you own. Paid plans still have a ceiling: Basic is listed at 100/month (with a documented add-on ceiling far below “unlimited”), Plus at 1,000, Business at 10,000. Extra response packs and the Contacts & Automations add-on ($25 or $75/month, unavailable on Free and Basic) stack on top.

Drop-off and conversion analytics, the thing you buy Typeform for if you care about funnels, start at Business. Branding removal starts at Plus. You can spend Plus money and still lack the report that tells you where people quit.

Compare that to Wodle Pro at $17/month: unlimited submissions stay unlimited, and you are paying for email, webhooks, storage, and AI headroom — not for the right to keep the form open.

If your volume is a few hundred responses a month and you love the Typeform UI, paying can still be cheaper than rebuilding. If your volume is “a launch, then quiet, then another launch,” a hard monthly cap will punish the launch every time. That pattern is why unlimited-with-fair-use exists.

Two more tools people ask about

Cognito Forms. Full logic and calculations on Free, but 100 entries/month. Pro is $24/month ($19 annual) for 2,000. It is a better Typeform alternative for complex internal forms than for public campaigns. The builder feels older. Support is generally well regarded.

Wufoo. SurveyMonkey’s older sibling. Free is 5 forms, 100 entries, 10 fields, and no conditional logic. Forms deactivate at the cap. It is on this page only so you do not waste an afternoon. If someone told you Wufoo is “the cheap Typeform,” they have not opened the free plan recently.

Heyflow and Formstack. No free plan. Heyflow starts at €49/month for 50 responses and sells design, conversion, and insights as extra bundles on top. Formstack starts at $99/month ($83 annual) with per-form submission limits. Neither is a Typeform free alternative. Both can be Typeform enterprise alternatives if you already have budget and a sales call on the calendar.

Typeform features with no clean replacement

Most roundups stop at price. If you are actually leaving, these are the things you should check before you commit, because none of the tools above match them one for one.

Depth of native integrations. Typeform has spent a decade building direct connections. Tally and Fillout have respectable lists. Wodle has webhooks on Pro and nothing native. "Use a webhook into Make" is a real answer, but it is a different job than clicking a toggle, and someone has to own that automation when it breaks.

Conversational pacing as a designed thing. Youform is the closest clone, and it is still not identical. Typeform's transitions, keyboard shortcuts, and pacing were tuned over years. If your completion rate depends on that specific feel, budget for a measurable drop and A/B test it rather than assuming the new form performs the same.

VideoAsk. If you use Typeform's video-response product, nothing on this list replaces it. That is a separate purchase decision from the form builder itself.

Enterprise compliance paperwork. Data residency choices, signed BAAs, SOC 2 reports, and procurement questionnaires are where smaller challengers lose. Wodle does not sell an enterprise tier today. If your legal team needs a HIPAA BAA, Jotform Gold and Formstack are the realistic destinations on this page, not us.

Response-level analytics you already trust. Typeform's drop-off reporting starts at Business, so many teams never had it. But if you do have it, check what the replacement offers before you cancel. Losing the report that justifies the form's existence is a bad first week.

A note on AI form builders

Typeform’s AI sits on paid plans. Wodle includes prompt-to-form and an in-editor assistant that edits the live canvas with 5 messages per day on Free. That is not “an AI product.” It is a faster first draft. You should still click every logic path on mobile before you publish, the same as you would after cloning a Typeform.

If a competitor promises “unlimited AI” on a free plan, read the message cap. Unlimited marketing copy and a 5-message reality can both be true in the same industry.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free Typeform alternative in 2026?
If you need unlimited submissions without a 10-response cap, look at Wodle, Tally, Youform, or Google Forms. Wodle adds display components and analytics on Free. Tally is the Notion-style editor. Google Forms is simplest and least designed.
How many free responses does Typeform allow?
Typeform’s help center states 10 responses per month across all forms as of August 2026, after cutting the free cap from 100 in February 2026. Limits are account-wide and do not roll over.
Does Wodle look like Typeform?
No. Typeform is one question per screen. Wodle is a visual canvas with multi-step forms that can mix questions with menus, pricing cards, and other display components.
Can I migrate from Typeform without losing data?
Export responses before you hit the cap or cancel. Typeform does not keep rejected submissions once a form goes Private. Rebuild the form in the new tool, then swap the public link and embeds.
Is Typeform still worth paying for?
Yes, if conversational UX is a brand requirement and you accept metered responses. It is a poor fit if you need a usable free plan or a high-volume public form on a budget.
